What is WAMAA?

The World Ancient Martial Arts Association (WAMAA) was founded with the mission of reviving and preserving the ancient martial arts that span across the histories of various nations. From the dawn of human existence, survival has been a constant challenge, and people have always sought new methods and skills to protect themselves and gain dominance. Early human tribes, striving for power and protection, began developing combat techniques to defeat rival groups. In response, the oppressed tribes were compelled to either create or adopt their own fighting systems to safeguard their people.

As civilizations and nations took shape, these martial arts evolved, often becoming key factors in the outcomes of wars and the defense of territories. They gave rise to legendary warriors and defenders whose valor and skill were celebrated throughout history. WAMAA was established to honor and revive these ancient fighting traditions, which played a crucial role in shaping the military strategies and victories of ancient peoples.

The association serves as a tribute to the rich martial heritage of different countries while also seeking to bring back the techniques that allowed our ancestors to thrive in battle and defend their homelands. Today, the martial arts practiced around the world are often rooted in, or inspired by, these ancient systems of combat. Each nation’s unique martial art is deeply intertwined with its culture, values, and way of life. Through WAMAA’s efforts, the association not only aims to preserve these ancient fighting styles but also to uncover the cultural significance behind them, shedding light on the societies that once relied on these traditions for survival and strength.
